I just saw The Dusty Baker’s blog post about her recipe for gluten free beer brownies. How creative!! I had to try them. Who can resist yummy gluten free brownies? I have trouble with that…
I followed Jacqueline’s recipe exactly, except I was out of Green’s Dubbel dark gluten free beer. Since Dubbel dark is my hubby’s favorite gluten free beer, it doesn’t last long around our house. (And we only buy a few at a time…) I did have some Green’s Quest Tripel Ale, so I used that instead.
The brownies were good, in spite of an oven that doesn’t seem to know how to bake. *sigh* I used a square muffin/mini cake pan. Since the “devil oven” worked its’ evil, they ended up being a bit overdone on the outside & gooey in the middle. Wow! They have a flavor, zing, as Jacqueline mentioned. None of us could really describe it…zing, yeah, that’s it. These gluten free brownies would be fun to bring to a party & see if anyone can guess what’s in them.
Many thanks to you, Jacqueline for sharing!
